Delicious cakes and pastries, and very very good matcha which can be hard to find in London. No frills, good service and pleasant interior. Only caveat is the indoor seating area is slightly small, there are only 3-4 tables inside.

Great patisserie and baked goods to choose from. The drink selection has been fantastic too! Worth coming in to order some authentic Japanese tea mix. Ordered white sesame cheesecake and can tell how special the dessert is. Would recommend others to visit for sure.

A charming Japanese cafe just down from the main shopping area in Marylebone. We’ve just come back from a holiday in Japan and have been sorely missing the excellent Japanese hospitality. The kind nature of the staff at WA Cafe made us feel like we were right back in Japan. At one point while sat in the cafe, I knocked over my girlfriend’s drink and it went everywhere. Not only did the staff rush over to clean it up, but they also replenished both our drinks (yes, both!) free of charge. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, I’d thoroughly recommend the Matcha Tiramisu. 美味しい (Delicious).

Lovely cafe with very friendly and efficient staff members. Their authentic Japanese savoury and sweet buns and breads as well as Japanese French style cakes and mochi are all lovely. Their tea is now served in a pint-jug-like mug with a strainer. I personally prefer a tea pot and a cup.

Finally popped by here after it being on my list for a while! The location is quite small so we waited a little while to be able to sit inside. The staff were very understanding and happy with this. Once we were seated the staff were very lovely and warm in getting our order together. I got the Chocolate Praline and my friend the Chocolate Gateau. The Chocolate Praline was absolutely out of this world. Not only was it a piece of art, the taste was incredible. It was beautifully rich, and both light yet dense at the same time. The difference layers added a variety of textures and flavours. This is definitely one for the chocolate lovers! My friend also loved the gateau. The location is cute and clean. I will definitely be returning and recommending WA Cafe to others. Is it expensive? Yes. But is it worth it - Yes!

great japanese cafe nestled in a busy marylebone shopping street and offering desserts such as a sesame cake! who worse thought there could be a sesame cake, with a creamy white sesame top and a robust black sesame bottom! and the flat white was incredibly delicious, right amount of foam, right amount of milk, very good coffee, great temperature. service standards are great at this cafe

Super cute, cozy and delicious Japanese cafe. The cakes are so beautiful and taste amazing and the drinks are very creative (loved the latte art). It’s a little pricey but we did go overboard wanting to try as much as possible! I recommend the Banana Chocolate cake if they still serve it :)

Lovely cafe and friendly staff. The cakes we tried were wonderful (just as good as in Japan). We’ll be back for more.

Welcome to WA Cafe (Marylebone), an enchanting gem nestled in the heart of London. Located at 6 Thayer St, this charming cafe brings a slice of authentic Japanese culinary artistry to the bustling streets of Marylebone. Known for its cozy and inviting atmosphere, WA Cafe is where delightful cakes and pastries meet top-notch matcha, a rare find in the city.

As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by the warm, friendly staff who embody the spirit of Japanese hospitality. Customers rave about the delightful service—because in addition to fine food, it's the attentiveness that elevates your experience here. For instance, one visitor recounted a mishap where a drink was accidentally knocked over. Instead of a fuss, staff promptly cleaned the mess and replaced both drinks free of charge. This level of care truly makes each visit special.

The menu is a treasure trove of exquisite offerings, from scrumptious matcha tiramisu to rich white sesame cheesecake. The desserts are not just visually stunning but also rich in flavor and texture. Another highlight is the Japanese savoury and sweet buns that tantalize the palate. Patrons have commented on the artistic presentation of each dessert, as well as the extraordinary tastes that accompany them. Sofia N. praises the cafe's "delicious cakes and pastries," while Felix Gan emphasizes the authentic Japanese tea mix that perfectly complements the array of baked goods.

Despite its small size, with only 3-4 tables, the ambiance is vibrant and clean. The snug interior enhances the cafe’s charm, making it a lovely spot for a quick bite or a leisurely dessert. However, be prepared for a possible wait during peak times, as the place is certainly worth it. Yasmin Jemmott's experience highlights this, noting that while the cafe can get busy, the treats served—like the decadent Chocolate Praline—are absolutely unforgettable. Rich, intricate, and full of various textures, this dessert captures the heart of any chocolate lover.

If you’re in search of a warm atmosphere enveloped in the aromas of freshly brewed tea and an array of mouthwatering pastries, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to WA Cafe (Marylebone). With its blend of traditional Japanese flavors and a cozy London setting, each bite invites you into a world where culinary excellence reigns supreme.
